Cris Pepper introduces her new era as a music producer by bringing “Voice of a Dreamer” in collab with Australian singer PENELOPE, ex The Voice Australia
At the year 2021 with lots of news and bringing a new Era of original productions, Cris Pepper, has been recently interviewed by Colors magazine , arrives in December with the release of her first original single, “Voice of a Dreamer”.
“It was during the lockdown, while I was focused on working on remixes, that I had an idea to make an original song, I was in a daily practice of meditation, concentration, awareness and this gave me an intuition to write lyrics” , comments Cris when talking a little about how the idea of starting this project came about, and she continued, “I was practicing meditation, I was very focused on myself. I put myself in silence on social networks and in contact with other people for 10 days” , she concluded, facing the reality that many artists has experienced during this great period of pandemic.
It was then that the first partnerships began to emerge, where Pepper took advantage of her more reclusive moment and started working on creating the lyrics, “I wrote some verses and then I invited Álvaro to work with me and I managed to make my verses turn into a music”, says Cris.
Álvaro Carias is the composer behind many hits in the Brazilian Tribal House scene, and he spoke a little about the importance of being involved in this project with the DJ, and producer, Cris Pepper:
“I love meeting new talents, new artists, and joining in partnerships with people who dream, who are visionaries… and for me, this invitation to be part of this project was exactly a step further in my career, as a DJ residing in another country and for the message that the song contains, a powerful message of overcoming, of not giving up, of effort, of rebirth for whatever you want to achieve, and ‘Voice of a Dreamer’, this title is very powerful indeed. , and the content of the song, the message it carries is a very powerful message and for me it was a pleasure, I feel honored to be part of this project.” – Alvaro Carias.
After having the composition finished, Cris went looking for the perfect voice to deliver the entire concept of the song to the audience, and that’s when the collab with Australian singer PENELOPE, former participant of the last edition of The Voice Australia, appeared, and they had a chat through an Instagram live, where they spoke a little more about this partnership.
“Voice of a Dreamer” brings a drop with a heavier tone, with different timbres and at the same time simple, “I really wanted to go from one extreme to the other”, says Cris. In addition, the song has few percussions, with few elements, “in the build up part I put a lot of high frequencies, several effects that bring a really high sound and then in the drop part it comes with a heavy beat, with more bass beats and which ends up giving the whole contrast of the song, the balance as the tone, turning into a wonderful tribal” , ends talking a little more about the single.
In order to start the partnerships, Cris had the expertise of one of the most important artists in Brazil, the DJ and Producer Macau, who for this project only signed the creation and planning of the single’s marketing campaign, and he told a little bit how he worked with the DJ:
“Cris contacted me to find out if I was still working in marketing, and it was special to work with music planning for this song, for me it’s like giving life to something the artist believes through his own work. And how to deliver this work to the public, this is the great challenge… ‘Voice of a Dreamer’ for me is the translation of the joy, of this vitality of an artist who is Brazilian, who has lived abroad for a long time and who has a very strong connection with me, through the music, also the musical style that she prints, that she wanted to print and that I have always worked with artists, I always promoted my own music, by the way, in a very affectionate way, very dedicated and this single was no different. Our planning, our affinity together translates exactly the energy that music needs to be shown to the public and as I always say: once the music is released it is no longer the artist’s, it belongs to each one, as it plays in the heart of each one in a different way and the marketing, the planning, the concept, the central idea, it just gives that touch, it means to me, the icing on the cake.” – MACAU.
And what to expect from a single with such a motivating message like that? Cris Pepper herself answers:
“It’s a very powerful and empowering lyric. I aim for people to feel inspired, empowered to believe in themselves to begin with. May it be a great incentive for people to pursue their dreams, to fight for what they believe in, what they dream. I hope they can feel deserving, to be able to get where they want to go, to understand that everything, absolutely everything is possible. That our limits are just our mind’s barriers. So if we go beyond these limits, our power of achievement is our power of imagination, which is our power to dream and that’s what ‘Voice of a Dreamer’ is all about.” – Cris Pepper.
As it was Pepper’s first original song, the entire creative process “was a great school” for her, in the words of the DJ herself, who added thanks a lot for the participation of everyone involved in this work:
“I feel very happy and very honored to have worked with such high quality professionals. The team that worked with me from the very beginning when I made the first beats to when I worked on the song composition, then partnering with the singer, then partnering with photographer, the music video director, makeup artists, screenwriter, cameraman, marketing professional, everyone is very talented, they are all passionate about what they do and I really feel very happy to have been able to bring together so many high quality professionals who have as guidelines in their lives, each in their own role, but with passion for their work and for the art they develops. I feel very lucky and very privileged to have worked with all these professionals and I have no doubt that ‘Voice of a Dreamer’ is already a success, precisely because of the team involved. I’m really happy with all this!” – Cris Pepper.
And she leaves a message about what we can expect for 2022, “I’m extremely happy with the result of everything I’ve achieved so far. What the public can expect is more news in 2022, which is full of surprises, with other artists from Tribal House and from other areas as well.”
