The new track was produced and composed by the DJ; co-composed by the singer Hellen Lyu (former participant of the shows "The Voice Brasil" and "Ídolos"), the voice of the song, in addition to the co-composition of the talented Álvaro Carias
After releasing her first single, “Voice of a Dreamer”, DJ and producer Cris Pepper arrives again with the news of a release that will enhance all the admiration won by her fans and professionals who she admires so much and who now see her with much more admiration and respect: “I started to be noticed by so many other artistic professionals who work at nightlife, the contractors, vocalists, other DJs/Producers, media professionals too…”, says Cris, who also talks about the emotion she experienced. Sometimes with the audience interaction in her presentations during the delivery of the track ‘VOAD’: “I also had a great return from the audience who love ‘VOAD’, we sing it together when I play it and that has already made me cry in the DJ booth a few times, I feel emotional and proud of the success of the single, seeing it in people’s mouths and hearts”, she concludes.
Now, to enhance the emotion during her presentations, Cris arrives with the new “Sweet Illusion”, which according to her: “talks about a daydream, a delirium, telling the story of a broken heart, but treated in a light and joyful way, an upward way. Without much drama, with an air of ‘turned page.’” The producer also says that “SI” is a real story, lived by herself, as it was with “VOAD”, “it’s a lyric based on real events”.
However, after her lived delirium by the passion that did not work out, Cris took advantage of the delirium of this story to put it on paper and turn it into a song, “I added some chords and rhymes, and, then, my new song was born”, says the composer. That’s where the work of Álvaro Carias came in, being the co-composer, who was in her first work as a producer and because it worked out super well, with a lot of connection between the two, the DJ invited him to give more life to delirious story of “Sweet Illusion”, “Álvaro is a versatile, committed artist who honors and takes his commitments seriously, which is a fundamental value for me”, she concludes.

Soon after, Cris went in search of a strong and remarkable voice, which brought the sweetness of a love in the timbre and the power of a passion at the same time. “I looked for all this in one voice, and I found it! It was then that I invited Hellen Lyu to participate in this project with us, she received the invitation with open arms and said yes! Also she gave her more than a special touch on this single, bringing her brand to add and make our music even stronger”, she concludes.
About the singer, Hellen Lyu was the chosen voice, she her participated in the programs Ídolos do SBT and The Voice Brasil, and now lives in Japan, bringing up one of the issues that could have been a big problem between the partnership of the two, but that was easily resolved, as the singer says, accepting with great joy and surprise the contact of a friend on a long road, as they have known each other for about 20 years, “Hellen brings the unique uniqueness of timbre in her voice, she is a very talented, competent, committed and experienced. When the choice of voice was defined that it needed to be a UNIQUE voice, she was the first artist that came to my mind and so I wrote to her. That’s when we talked again after so many years and, now, it’s an even greater pleasure to be releasing this single with her”, concludes Cris.
"To my surprise, one day, looking at my message box on a social network, there was a smoke signal from her, with a proposal for a partnership.I was very happy for the invitation and promptly dived headlong into the project. Of course we had some challenges, one of them was the geographic distance, because we live in different countries, she, in Australia and I, in Japan. In this case, the internet made all the difference. It made this project viable. We work day and night, remotely, to adjust and define the final details of the song. We dedicate ourselves, with great affection, to this song and even with the challenges, we deliver our best!”
The main message that Cris wants to convey with “Sweet Illusion” is that “Everything passes… A passion passes and so does love too.” That’s what the lyrics bring from beginning to end, cycles that transit between joy and passion, intense forms of emotions that only those who have lived a great passion will be able to feel:
“It is important for us to remember that life is made up of cycles and that everything, absolutely everything has a beginning, middle and end. There is no pain that never passes, just as there is no joy that never passes. If the wind is blowing too hard for you right now, hold on tight because it will pass. And if the sun is shining for you, make the most of the present moment because that too will pass. With joy, lightness and the certainty that all our experiences (good or not) are essential to be who we are.”
And all this whirlwind of emotions is accompanied in a super coherent way in the sound construction of “SI”, in which Cris brings a happy, upbeat melody and also serious elements, well marked for the tribal house swing, which she likes to use in her productions. In addition, the track’s producer uses leads that bring more power to the drops, which complement and fit very well with the timbre of Hellen’s voice, “I also prefer cleaner drops with few elements. I invested more time in researching tones rather than more elements on the track… ‘SI’ brings a clean and impactful drop, just like a love or a crush can be.”
